I loved this program! Meeting for class only once a week was very convenient for me and my work schedule. Interning was fun and it taught me so much. I loved that Dr. McKelvey and the teachers encourage you to be very hands on. All of the teachers made sure we knew that if we had any questions that we should never hesitate to ask. I learned so much in this program and I am forever grateful to have taken and completed it. In less than a month after completing the program, I was very fortunate enough to get offered a job where I had interned. I now work for Dr. Tony Gales and I love it. I highly recommended this program and I am proof that you can come out of the program successful with a little hard work and determination!

I attended the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program in March of 2014. From day one, I knew that this course would provide me with the skills needed to excel in dental assisting. We were getting hands-on experience in the very first class. Dr. Maggie and the other instructors were always available with any questions I had. Going into the program, I had a goal to exit the class with a job. With Dr. Maggie’s help and guidance, I am now working as a surgical assistant at Madison Oral and Facial Surgery working with Dr. Shah and Dr. Jones. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to get into dental assisting.
– Chelsea Kircher, Madison

I have always had an interest in teeth and when I heard that I could become a dental assistant in only a few months I thought it sounded too good to be true. I researched the school online and decided to apply for it. The first day of class I was very excited and nervous to start learning. I loved the way class was taught. It was fun and time seemed to fly by. Maggie made sure that every topic was covered in a informative manner. The teachers were very helpful and friendly. Maggie was very helpful in finding interviews and making sure that I was heading in the right direction. As class came to an end I felt like I was well prepared to become a dental assistant. I handed my resume to a few offices and all were very impressed with my knowledge after only being in a short term program. I now work as a dental assistant  in Decatur and I couldn’t be happier. I was able to do most procedures without hesitation. I love The North Alabama Dental Assisting Program and would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to go into the dental assisting field.
– Taunton Griffith, Decatur

The North Alabama Dental Assisting Program is a program I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get into the dental field. Throughout the course, Dr. McKelvey and her staff were determined to see each student succeed through lecture and clinical teaching environments.  Each instructor was dedicated and passionate about their professional field which poured over into the program.  Upon completing the NADA Program, I was confident that I would be a great Dental Assistant because of these 10 weeks of thorough instruction! Becoming a Dental Assistant has been very beneficial not only to me, personally, but also to by family; it is one of the best decisions I have made.  Being a Dental Assistant is such a rewarding profession. The relationships you build with your dentist, co-workers, and most of your patients is second to none.  The NADA Program was a life changer for me.

There really is only one word to describe this course…Amazing!  Such care and compassion from Dr. McKelvey, and all the instructors.  They truly want to see you succeed and will do anything to help you succeed.  The hands-on classes and interning are where you really get to experience things.  There is a wealth of knowledge from every Doctor and assistant and hygienist you work with.  By interning I was able to even get a job half way thru the course, now I am an Orthodontic Assistant and Treatment Coordinator…. All thanks to the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program!

I started the North Alabama Dental Assisting program in January of 2013 and graduated in March, and can honestly say it was one of the best decisions made in my life thus far. Dr. Maggie and the team there gave each and every student the guidance and learning we needed to be successful. I always felt they were there for me to ask any questions and help along the way. The classroom gave us the knowledge we needed to work as an assistant and the lab gave us hands on training which gave us an idea of how working in a dental office would actually be. Through interning while in the program, I was offered a job to become a dental assistant, and have absolutely loved every minute of it. This program has opened so many doors for me in life, and I will forever be grateful for the confidence and patience Dr. Maggie and her team invested in me. With hard work and dedication on your part, there is no way you won’t come out of this program a successful, trained dental assistant. I started the North Alabama Dental Assisting program in April 2013. Dr. Maggie and staff go above and beyond to make sure that you have the skills & competence you need to succeed in this field. All of the chair side experience you receive is amazing to develop the vast skill set you will need as an assistant. If you are willing to put in the work and be diligent with studying and interning during the class, there will be no limits to where you can take your career. My goal for myself was to have a job by the time my class ended in July 2013. I have no doubt that without the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program, I wouldn’t be where I am today with a career that I absolutely love and enjoy!

The North Alabama Dental Assisting Program was a great experience for me. I finished the program in March 2013. I got a job in May at Florence Oral Surgery with Dr. Morris. Dr. Maggie and her staff were very helpful during the 10 weeks that I attended this program. They taught me everything I needed to know to be successful. They were very patient with us while we were learning, and answered any questions we had. The interning and hands on is what helped me the most. The more you do hands on the more you’ll understand. The class was so much fun and I always looked forward to going. I would recommend this program to anyone who is dedicated and wants to be successful in the dental field. I just want to thank Dr. Maggie and her staff for doing this program and helping me be successful!
– Taylor Borden, Florence Oral Surgery

I want to say thank you to Dr. Maggie McKelvey and the teachers of North Alabama Dental Assisting School for giving me a great education for my new career. The teachers are always there for you morning, noon and night if you need help with studying or have questions. I enjoyed every Saturday and looked forward to class. I now have a job in a pediatric office and love my job.  If you are ready to start a new career where you enjoy going to work every day and helping others this is the career for you. I had actually talked with a local dentist about the program before I started he told me that Dr Maggie McKelvey is a great dentist and I should apply. I am very happy I chose to go to North Alabama Dental Assisting School.
– Wendy Poff, Dr. Joel Hardin

The North Alabama Dental Assisting Program was an amazing life changing experience. In only 10 weeks I learned a great deal of knowledgable information needed to obtain a career in dental assisting. The hands on training beginning on the first day of class made the learning experience very interesting and easy to learn. Interning gave me the confidence and experience I needed in being a successful dental assistant. Dr. Maggie and her team went above and beyond to see that each student was well prepared and understood all material being taught throughout the program. The Saturday classes and flexible intern hours made it very convenient for myself. After being in class a short few weeks, I was asked to fill in full-time as a dental assistant and then was offered a job upon completion of the program in July of 2013 where I am still working as a dental assistant. I am so blessed to have gotten to experience this opportunity and have gained a career in such a rewarding profession. North Alabama Dental Assisting Program has truly been a blessing to me!  I haven’t been back in school in years and was nervous taking the plunge to NADA! I am so glad I did! Dr. Maggie McKelvey and staff helped me so much!  I never thought I could achieve the things I did! NADA lit a fire within me to become the best dental assistant I could in a short period of time. Being able to intern immediately throughout the program was so helpful to get experience right off the bat. The hands on learning really helped me excel in class as a student!  Within the 2nd week of interning Dr. Maggie helped set up an interview for a temporary position as a dental assistant.  Now, it has turned into a full time permanent position at Pope Family Dentistry and I couldn’t be happier!  I am so thankful everyday that I get to have a career that I love and I owe it all to North Alabama Dental Assisting Program!!

I am so glad I made the decision to attend the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a career in the dental field.  Each class was very informative and hands on.  The lecture was full of information on terminology, four handed dentistry, dental materials and x-ray techniques.  During clinicals, I was able to practice and apply those skills with great instructors who took the time to explain every procedure in detail.  As a result, I felt very confident in my abilities to perform chairside assisting and was offered a job mid-way through the program!  I now work as a surgical assistant for an oral surgeon and can truely say that I have a great job and a CAREER I can be proud of!  Thank you Dr. Maggie for your passion to see all of your students succeed.
 Alaina Crowe, Dr. Shane Stevenson

I finished the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program in September 2013. This class was a blessing! In only 14 weeks, I learned what most people attend college for years to learn and personally I believe this class better prepares you than others I have heard about. Dr. Maggie and all of the Instructors are so kind, helpful, and passionate about their jobs and teaching. It is an extremely open environment and I never felt like I couldn’t ask for help. The instructors made it a priority to make sure all of us understood the material and felt comfortable working as dental assistants. The best part about the program is being able to do hands on training on patients the first week you begin! By the end of the program I felt completely confident that I was ready to be a great dental assistant and that I had the best training in this area. Dr. Maggie is great with helping everyone find jobs during the class as well.  The help from her and the staff extends even after the class ends. I received a job offer five weeks into the program working at Dental Associates. I encourage everyone wanting a career in dental assisting to enroll. Dental assisting is a very rewarding and enjoyable career. If you are 100% dedicated to learning and interning you can and will succeed! It is truly a one of a kind phenomenal program.

In September 2013, I graduated from North Alabama Dental Assisting Program. This program was great for me because it was a short duration, on Saturdays and it couldn’t have come at a better time.  As a former Army wife and having two children, it was hard to finish the career I wanted in the dental field. If you want a career in dental assisting this program is perfect for you. Dr. Maggie and the team is there to help you every step of the way to be successful. I learned so much from this program and I’m so blessed I now have a job as a dental assistant at Dental Associates of North Alabama.

I am blessed to have a career doing what I have always wanted and I owe thanks to Dr. Maggie and the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program. The fun and informative classes mixed with the flexible interning schedule sure make it easy to recommend this program to others. I believe if you are dedicated to the program and give it your all you will succeed. Thanks Dr. Maggie!
– Robin Mills, Durham Orthodontics

My name is Kate Cosby. I attended the North Alabama Dental Assisting  program in January of 2012. I completed the program in March of 2012 and accepted a dental assisting job for Jeremiah Harris in March of 2012. In my ten weeks of training I learned dental terminology and dental anatomy, four handed dentistry, office management, and most of all how to care for your patients. I enjoyed the program because I learn faster with hand on activities and that’s how the program works. My first day interning with Dr. Maggie allowed me to jump in the chair and assist with a composite filling and stainless steel crowns. The instructors stress how important it is to intern as much as you can and they are right. The more hand on procedures you do, the better you become. Everything starts feeling natural to you and it becomes second nature. I really enjoyed interning with Dr. Maggie because I learned pediatric dentistry as well. Working on kids can be very difficult but if you can do a good job assisting with a children you will do a fabulous job assisting on adults. I also interned with other dentists in my area. They were very eager to see what I was willing to do, so I went into their office ready to work. I delivered patients to and from the reception room, prepared the treatment room for the procedure we would be doing, , took X-rays if needed, walked the patient out, and if needed, went over post-op instructions with patient or patient’s parent.  After dismissing the patients, I would break down the room, and use the sterilization procedures I learned in the program. I also learned how to write up the patient’s chart notes and fill out lab scripts if needed. When I received my dental assisting job I was very knowledgeable in all procedures used in the dental field and also with all the instruments used during the procedures. The dental assisting program is a great way to see what you’re made of. The instructors will go over all the material you will need and will give you the hands-on training you need and the rest is up to you. If you put yourself out there and intern as much as you can in the ten weeks of training you can and will be successful.
– Katie Cosby, Dental Associates of Athens

In December 2012, I graduated from North Alabama Dental Assisting Program. I personally would (and have) recommend this program to anyone wanting to enter the dental assisting field. Not only did I have a great time, but I also learned a great deal of knowledgable information. Dr. Maggie Mckelvey and her team went above and beyond to train us to be the best. They were willing to help us in any way,  from studying, to practicing for clinicals, even to help us practice for interviews and find job openings. If not for Dr. Maggie and her team I would not be where I am today, thank you ladies for all you’ve done for me!
